An excerpt from the article “10 Best Places for Tech Jobs” from U.S.News & World Report

Phoenix

“According to one recent count, Phoenix has 4,200 high-tech companies and upwards of 81,000 high-tech jobs. Microsoft, Oracle, and Intel are among the major tech corporations with a presence in the area, but Phoenix boasts plenty of smaller, but still familiar, employers, such as domain registrar GoDaddy. The city ranks high in overall tech job openings and in the ratios of job openings to employment for several IT jobs. Credit goes, in part, to Arizona State University, which nurtures advances at its College of Technology and Innovation and Advanced Technology Innovation Center.”

We are proud of our responsiveness to customer needs, and this position is the central point for everything leaving Engineering on the way to a customer. It requires a keen eye for detail, excellent automation for speed, and flexibility to address any request.

Quality Engineer

We are actively looking for a Quality Engineer with in-depth experience in the software quality process throughout the lifecycle. Windows operating systems and products as well as Adobe and VM software are fundamental expectations. Experience writing automated testing scripts and testing complex client-server environments is a plus. Attention to detail and the ability to keep your head when all about you are losing theirs: priceless.

Quality Engineer - Integrations

We are actively looking for a Quality Engineer responsible for the automation, testing, administration, and setup of our Enterprise Content Management (ECM) environments (different configurations) as well as requirements analysis, customer advocacy and quality assurance for the integrations of our products in large ECM client/server solutions. This position requires many skills as well as strong self-direction and good teamwork behaviors.

Information about your experience with ECM products such as Documentum, LiveLink, or Filenet, etc. is a plus. Experience with best practices in software QA, including test planning, execution and automation as well as participation in other phases of the software lifecycle essential. Scalability, load-testing, assorted performance and security analysis are expected in this position. Technologies include client-server, Websphere, Weblogix, IIS, Tomcat, Firefox, Oracle, SqlServer, Advanced Windows administration, and minimal UNIX.

Research images make the cover of the latest IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing

Posted: 06/23/2009

IEEE_June_cover_web.png Three key images from the paper "Interactive Hyperspectral Image Visualization Using Convex Optimization" made the cover of IEEE's Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, a publication of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society. The research paper, written by Ming Cui, Anshuman Razdan, Jiuxiang Hu, and Peter Wonka, was released in the June 2009 Volume 47 issue.

The cover shows an automatic pseudocolored visualization of an AVIRIS hyperspectral image data set. Visualizations are created using an automatic color assign scheme based on convex optimization (top left). Using the same method we can highlight a region with similar spectral signatures (top right). The algorithm is compared to other visualization algorithms such as ISOMAP visualization (bottom).
For more information, see the publication.
